Fallbrook Film Festival

Fallbrook International Film Festival

Walden was the Executive Producer for the first Fallbrook International Film Festival.  The first and subsequent film festivals took place in Fallbrook, California in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2013.  The Fallbrook International Film Festival gave Lifetime Achievement Awards to Director Adam McKay, actress Shirley Jones and a Career Achievement Award that went to David Hasselhoff.  Awards went to stunt men such as Terry Leonard and Frank Capra III.  In addition to the film festival screenings, there were film making workshops and free public screenings.  Each festival ended with an awards ceremony at the Pala Casino where celebrities were acknowledged along with independent filmmakers for their tremendous works of art.

As part of the process for launching of the film festival, Walden conducted a focus group to determine the proper messaging for the festival and to garner interest for the event from officials for the Village of Fallbrook.  She also organized fund-raisers, secured volunteers and conducted media outreach to build demand and support for the event.

Three promotional videos were created to promote the festival.  One commercial ran 300 times on Time Warner Cable stations (our sponsor) during the month of April 2008 throughout San Diego County. The other two were placed on the film factory and festival websites.  Voice-overs by Greg Dehm & Donna Walden.

Walden worked with a designer to develop a poster for the first film festival that reflected the sentiment of the Village of Fallbrook who at the time wanted to move away from their cliche image of “the avocado town” to an edgier vibe of an art town.
